Join in the lunchtime cycle in Letterkenny

 

Bike Week is a celebration and promotion of all that's great about bikes and cycling. Held over a week in June of each year with bike themed events organised by local authorities, community groups and cycling groups throughout Ireland, this years event will run from the 14th to 23rd June 2014

 

From free bike checks, fun cycles, lunchtime city rides, heritage cycles, electric bike races, school cycling events, bike festivals, road races and much more. There’s something for every age and ability. 

 

Locally Donegal Sports Partnership with the support of the Department of Transport , Tourism and Sport, Donegal County Council, HSE and local cycling clubs and community groups have coordinated a full programme of  bike related events all across the county for everyone to participate and enjoy kicking off with a county launch and a  lunchtime cycle in Letterkenny on Tuesday 10th June.

 

The lunchtime cycle will leave the Letterkenny public services centre at 1pm and follow a loop via the port road, pearse road around to the new dunnes stores roundabout and back to the public services centre. For motorists around Letterkenny at lunchtime on the Tuesday 10th please note that there may be some short delays to allow the cyclists to get across the 3.5 k route.

 

Children and staff from the Ballyraine Primary and the Letterkenny Educate Together Primary school will also take part as well as workers from businesses and offices around the town. The cycle will start at 1pm from the Letterkenny Public Services Centre and is open to anyone, just bring your bike and helmet and away you go.
